Throughout my years of schooling I've had many good and bad teachers. What makes a teacher good? In my opinion the ones who know you as your name and don't make you feel like just another student. It's essential for them to share about themselves and for them to want to know about you. Professors who care about getting through the material but still care if most people are on board. It's important for me that my teacher have some sort of sense of humor and teaches with enthusiasm. Those teachers who actually take the time to show you not just yell it across the room. A good teacher not only teaches but inspires.
What makes a bad professor? When the student feels like just another face in the room and has had no effort made to make them feel like their teacher notices them or wants them to succeed. Running through material and not stopping for any quick questions makes for a atrocious professor. The teachers who just sit behind their desk and will not come over to help solve whatever your question may be. Everyone has their tired days and a dull professor that teaches with no life only makes it worse. All in all we all have those teachers that we loved or hated throughout the years. They have in some way helped who we are as a person or maybe even helped us realize what career we would enjoy.
